Energy Resource Management (ERM) is conducting a talk on “Contract Law for Engineers” which is specifically for engineers that aim to assume senior positions working for companies or become executives and partners at their own engineering firms and yet never have had any basic training in contract law.
Every project that an engineer undertakes, involves a contract which governs the terms of the engineer’s work. Understanding the basics of contract law, contract interpretation and negotiation protects the engineer’s rights and obligations. There are certain contract fundamentals that every engineer ought to know so whether they assume the role of managers, head of projects or executives, they are in a better position to protect themselves or their companies from liability and also know when to contact a lawyer.
